NEW GOPHER MESSAGING SURVEY.
All campus voicemail boxes have now moved to the new Gopher Messaging services. NTS is always looking for feedback and customer responses to our services. Please tell us which features you have tried, how we handled the cutover, or how you like Gopher Messaging. All responses are valued and appreciated. See https://wwws.nts.umn.edu/cgi-bin/gm/gopher_messaging_survey.cgi.

TIP: SHORTCUTS WHILE LISTENING TO MESSAGES.
Gopher messaging treats time and date stamp information separately from the actual messages. To quickly view messages, use the # key - first to move past the time/ date/ sender information - then with other keys to act upon the message. For example - entering ## will skip a message - #7 will delete the message. To override all features, press the next feature key.

TIP: USE THE # KEY AFTER YOUR PASSWORD.
The Gopher Messaging system is set up to wait 4 seconds (before considering all of the digits have been entered). To speed up your initial login, use the # key after your password. This will allow the system to immediately process your password and let you into your account.

TIP: PAGER NOTIFICATION IN GOPHER MESSAGING.
To use Gopher Messaging's pager function, you must add extra characters to allow for the greeting of your particular paging service.  Do this in the web interface at the Options menu. Look for these key words: Voice Mail, Message Waiting by Numeric Page, Edit. Then add your pager number and 10 commas “,” in the ‘dial string field.

REMINDER: SET TIME STAMP AND SENDER INFORMATION.
The Time Stamp and Sender Information is a standard feature for all Gopher Messaging users, it's just not activated on all mailboxes. To activate this feature on the telephone, select (4) Personal Options. Then select option (8) to get to the options that control date and time and sender info.

NEED GOPHER MESSAGING TRAINING?
See the new Gopher Messaging course notice in the ADCS section below: New Course - Gopher Messaging: Unified Messaging on the Web." Also see the online Gopher Messaging Guides on the NTS website: http://www.umn.edu/nts/go4msg/.
