The UM Tech Brief is a resource for University of Minnesota technical support staff and department and unit decision makers.

This e-mail bulletin is produced monthly by departments in the Office of Information Technology. The UM Tech Brief is an outgrowth of our efforts to provide you with timely information that touches the way you pursue your administrative, research, teaching and learning activities everyday.

Although anyone can subscribe to this bulletin, its audience is primarily program administrators and technical support staff.

The UM Tech Brief is distributed via a listserv called the umtechbrief. Only owners are allowed to send e-mail to the list. The first UM Tech Brief was e-mailed in October, 2002.

2. Skip the "subject" line (or type subscribe as subject)

3. Type this in the message portion:
subscribe umtechbrief [yournamehere]

for example: subscribe umtechbrief Robert Trebor

This bulletin is e-mailed as plain text to make it accessible to the largest audience. Plain text e-mail is also the safest e-mail, preventing the UM Tech Brief from being contaminated by malware.
